Looking for a new Challenge?

What are your goals for this year? - A focus for your fitness campaign? An overseas trip? Have you ever set out to 'Make a difference?'

Tour for a Cure gives you the unique opportunity to achieve all three. This new fundraising campaign from the Cancer Council Victoria sets you the challenge of training for, and completing, an overseas adventure tour – either Trekking the Great Wall of China, or Cycling in Vietnam or Thailand – while you are raising valuable funds for the fight against Cancer.

Throughout the next six months, you can set specific training goals for yourself, to get in great shape for the challenge, while also organising and participating in fundraising activities for the Cancer Council. Fundraising in your workplace, local community, or amongst family and friends can be great fun, as you gather the support of those around you for the challenge. Cancer Council staff are on hand throughout your campaign with extensive fundraising ideas, advice and practical support.

Through ‘Tour for a Cure’ the Cancer Council will raise more than $100,000 per trip, while also offering participants a unique travel and personal experience.

There are three great adventures
to choose from

Trek the Great Wall of China Challenge
April 18th – 29th 2005
This 12 day adventure tour includes 7 days of challenging trekking across the winding peaks and stunning countryside of the Great Wall of China, as well as time to see the sites of Beijing and Xian.
Cycle Vietnam Challenge
November 16th – 28th 2004
12 Days of adventure, cycling 500km between Hanoi and Saigon. Visit coastal towns, and the stunning central highlands – you wont forget the people and places of this amazing country!
River Kwai Cycling Challenge (Thailand)
February 18th – 27th 2005
11 Days through the Thai Jungles, following the Burma Railway to the infamous Bridge on the River Kwai. Stay in raft houses, visit the hellfire pass, Buddhist monasteries and elephant camps.

How does it work?

To be a part of ‘Tour for a Cure’ each participant will contribute a $500 registration fee, and then commit to reaching a pre-set fundraising goal for the Cancer Council. (Vietnam tour - $4500, China and Thailand Tours - $5500). Once this target is reached, everything is provided for you, including airfares, accommodation, meals and guides.
