The Magazine
Australasian Taekwondo is the only magazine
of its type in Australia. Australian Taekwondo's
popularity is confirmed in the fact that Taekwondo
is the most actively practiced martial art in
Australia with over 100,000 practitioners.
Published on a quarterly basis (4 issues per
year), the magazine features exclusive interviews,
tournament reports, injury advice & profiles.
It provides an excellent avenue to advertise
clubs, seminars, tournaments, uniforms &
equipment
The Sport
Since its inclusion in the Sydney 2000 Olympics,
and in particular with the success of our medal-winning
team at those Games, Taekwondo has grown remarkably.
With many practitioners beginning training in
pursuit of the Olympic dream, the future potential
of the sport is great.
Taekwondo is also practised by many thousands
for the self-defence skills that it offers and,
with its added health and fitness benefits,
has become an activity with which many children
and even whole families have become involved.
Programs taking Taekwondo into schools are also
adding to the sport's exposure and growth.
As well as Taekwondo, there are several other
Korean martial arts popular around Australia
(most notably, Hapkido) that also receive extensive

readers aged 16-–39. Our surveys reveal
that the majority of readers:
• Have been reading Australasian Taekwondo
for more than 12 months

• Have purchased training equipment several
times in the last 12 months

• Watch martial arts and action movies
