The Magazine
International Kickboxer is Australia's only
kickboxing magazine, covering both the local
and international scene. Kickboxing has been
called "the sport of the millennium"
and its popularity has sky-rocketed over the
last couple of years with the Oceania region
producing many great national and world champions.
International Kickboxer has followed the growth
of the sport and created an enormous following
of dedicated readers. A bi-monthly publication,
International Kickboxer always contains the
very latest news, fight reports, profiles, interviews,
K-1 updates and training drills, tips and hints.

gear and equipment.
The Market
Kickboxing is a boom sport that is growing
in popularity by the day, both in Australia
and worldwide. Australia now boasts some of
the world's best kickboxers, among them a number
of world champions. Such households names include
Stan "The Man" Longinidis and Sam
Greco, whose fighting fame precedes them throughout
Australasia, Europe, Japan and the USA. Australian
kickboxing is broadcast to a national television
audience via leading sports broadcaster, FOX
SPORTS, which beams the fights into two million
households. In New Zealand, kickboxing is broadcast
on free-to-air network TVNZ, and has proven
an untouchable ratings winner.
Major Australian kickboxing shows are conducted
in all capital cities with capacity audiences
attending events at Melbourne's Vodafone Arena
(10,000), Sydney's Star City Casino (2000),
Brisbane's RNA Showgrounds (2000), Perth's Burswood
Dome (2000), and other similarly popular venues.
Internationally the sport continues to develop
a massive mainstream following, especially in
Japan where crowds of 70,000 fill the Tokyo
Dome and 100,000 fill the Olympic Stadium for
kickboxing events broadcast to more than 35
million viewers on two networks (Fuji and Nippon).
Kickboxing is also a boom recreational and
fitness activity with most gyms now offering
cardio kickboxing, kickboxercise, Tae Bo and
similar programs espousing the fitness benefits
of kickboxing.
Kickboxing's popularity in Australia is reflected
via the sportzblitz.net forum - an internet
watering hole for thousands of kickboxing fans
sharing their thoughts and ideas on the sport.
It is the kickboxing forum which gathers more
response than any of the other sports (including
those mainstream) on the website.
